ValueOne is looking for an experienced Category Manager in construction and civil engineering investments for a consulting assignment with one of our clients in the manufacturing industry in Ludvika. The assignment starts in March 2026 and initially lasts for 6 months.

About the role

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and driving category and sourcing strategies within construction and civil engineering. You will ensure competitive agreements and lead procurements with a focus on cost optimization and risk reduction, as well as ensuring compliance with workplace and safety requirements, regulatory and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

• Develop and create strategies for the category by analyzing purchasing volumes, designing plans for supplier collaborations, and identifying factors that affect risks and costs.
• Lead procurements, conduct negotiations, and evaluate contracts.
• Perform market analyses and monitor the supplier landscape, price developments, trends, and proven working methods.
• Ensure an optimal balance between cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
• Support the project organization in scheduling, cost budgeting, and forecasting.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and quality-related risks.
• Ensure compliance with workplace and safety requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standards in all project phases.
• Develop relevant key performance indicators, establish routines for supplier relationships, and conduct quarterly follow-ups.

Experience and competence

To succeed in this role, we see that you have over 5 years of experience working with strategic sourcing or category management within investment projects. You have experience implementing category and sourcing strategies, excellent skills in Excel, and are fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written. We also believe you have a post-secondary education in areas such as Supply Chain, Finance, or Business. It is a merit if you have knowledge of additional Nordic languages.

As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and business-minded with the ability to see the big picture and work from a clear commercial perspective. You easily create long-term professional relationships and thrive in a dynamic environment with varied tasks.
